Hello World!

My name is John Russell. I am a licensed Geologist and suburban farming enthusiastic located in Lakewood, Colorado. This initiative is still very early – but simply put, the goal is to facilitate home farmers sharing what they produce with their community.

The critical importance of fresh food to our health is rapidly being recognized in the mainstream. There is also a rapidly growing community of home farmers who produce more than they can consume. Exhibit A: myself last week. We grew more lettuce than we could eat and the micro-lettuces on our porch are turning bitter and wilting over.

And there is 6 more head-sized oakleaf in the blackberry beds that are going to bitter any day now. I’d love to share these with someone – I’m sure I’ve got a neighbor would be interested in taking one or two home for dinner, right?

We are seeking to create a network of home farmers who produce more than they need and want to share with their neighbors. The model is easy. 1) I make a profile; 2) Post what bounty you have to share (lettuce right now, tomatoes next!); 3) Select your mode of sharing: Free or Give What You Can (donation based); 4) Connect with a neighbor and make a date for pickup.
